The St. Landry Parish School Board will host a summer learning program for children in grades K through 8. It will also include enrichment opportunities that enable students to take virtual field trips, learn about science and technology, engage in social living projects, and develop an appreciation for the arts. The 4-week program will be offered June 7th through July 1st. Students will be offered transportation to and from the program, and meals will be provided. Central Middle School will dismiss early today, March 17, 2021, at 1:25 pm due to the forecasted threat of severe weather. Buses will be running this afternoon for students.

Please ask your child for the permission slips that were sent home this week to sign up for LEAP Camp beginning this Saturday, March 6, 2021 from 9 AM - 11:30 AM. You must sign and bring back the permission slip tomorrow to attend on Saturday.

Additionally, administrative offices will be closed to the public. We will continue to consult with school administrators, the National Weather Service, and the Office of Emergency Preparedness in the decision-making progress regarding the re-opening of schools. Hazardous road conditions and power outages have resulted in the district’s decision to close facilities for our students, bus drivers, and employees’ safety. Reminder: The deadline to exit St. Landry Parish Virtual Learning Academy in preparation to return to in-school learning is tomorrow, January 22, 2021 at 3:00 P.M. You must visit your child's base school to unenroll. Students returning to in-school learning will begin on Monday, February 1, 2021.

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, all SLP schools and administrative offices will be closed tomorrow, January 18, 2021.
