CMS: there are buses that may be late picking up students from their bus stops and dropping them off at school due to a traffic jam on Hwy 190. Students who arrive late will be excused.

Permission forms have gone home to 5th grade students for the upcoming Body Talk, presented by the Foundation for Wellness. The presentation will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 12th at CMS for students whose parents sign and return a permission slip. Central Middle School students and staff hosted a Veterans Day program to honor men and women who have served our country. Veterans from the VFW Post 8971 demonstrated to 5th grade students how to raise a flag. Our special guests joined our student body for a program. Guest speakers Pastor Lloyd and Denise Antoine shared words of inspiration to our students. Thanks to CMS staff members serving on the Veterans Day committee for organizing this event: C. Central Middle School English Learner (EL) students who showed improvement from their 2023 ELPT scores to their 2024 ELPT scores earned a celebration field trip to TopGolf in Lafayette! We are proud of the progress that you have made with your goals!

Attention 21st Century Community Learning Program students: Mrs. Amanda Fontenot's bus 510 will not run for the after-school pogram on Wednesday, October 30th. She is running her normal route.

CMS: effective 10/30/24, only store bought, sealed snacks are allowed on our campus by students. If students bring opened snacks on campus, they will be discarded immediately during morning security checks. As a reminder, only clear, plastic water bottles are allowed on our campus. Thanks for your usual cooperation.

CMS: flu vaccination consent forms are due. Flu vaccinations will be administered Wednesday, October 30th for students who have their parent consent forms completed and submitted to the front office. Thanks.
